Easter Program
We asked the girls to wear their Sunday clothes and we told them we were flying to Jerusalem to visit the Garden of Gethsemane. On the “flight” we had a flight attendant (one of the girls) pass out pkgs. of peanuts…and we had a pilate (the second counselor in the Bishopric) and a co-pilate (the Primary Pres.). The inflight movie was “Easter Dream”. After the movie, we walked to the garden. The Primary pianist was playing Easter music when we entered the room. After the prayer we discussed Palm Sunday and some of the events on the day of the feast of the passover, the last supper, and what took place in the garden. Then one of the girls talked about the events on the first Easter morning and two of the girls bore their testimony about why they love the Savior and what he did for them. After that, the second counselor in the Bishopric talked about how we can “remember” Jesus. He talked about how we all forget things and how we have little reminders for ouselves and how taking the sacrament helps us to remember Jesus and we have that opportunity every week. We gave the girls a nice picture of Jesus at the Tomb for a gift and made nice treat for them. It turned out really well. We could really feel the Spirit.
