Young Women in Excellence: The tie that binds
Our theme was The Tie That Binds…
The main talk was comparing quilts to our lives… the top squares are made up of differnt pieces of fabric that all come together to from a pattern, the pattern of our lives…..ie.
(the good things in our lives…family frineds, talents, character…etc) The thread used to sew the peices compared to the young womens values which holds the pattern of our lives together. The batting is for the warmth we need…to protect us from the elements…or the world such as scripture study, prayers…etc…the back of the quilt…represents the Savior…with out it the rest would all fall apart…and last..the Tie that binds…either quilting or yarn ties… That is the the Temple and the covenants we make…
We talked about even the best made quilts can be torn and ripped… We talked about that it can be reparied…and compared that to sining in our lives and the atonement… Any way…. It was a great evening…and the girls loved it…
