Tithing and Blessings!
I started by reading the Lord’s promise to those who pay their tithing: 3 Nephi 24:10, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house; and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it”.
We then went outside and I threw the pennies into the air and they landed in the grass all over the place. Everyone went in search of them. We talked about how some blessings are easy to see (those on top of the grass) while others (those that went deeper into the grass) were harder to notice.
When all the pennies were found, I had each girl name a blessing for each penny they found (it took some time, but they got creative!). Also, we talked about how they should pay one penny of tithing for each ten pennies they recieved.
Then we went inside and read Luke 14:15, “… Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.”
Then we all made toast(bread) with cinnamon sugar! Yum!
